DEPARTMENT OF Chemistry:

Dept. of Chemistry, the youngest among the departments of the college, at Govt. Science College, Chatrapur became operational in the year 1981. At present, the Dept. offers courses for UG and PG students. Passed out students of the department have cracked Entrance Exams of state and central universities across India in pursuance of their higher studies. In addition to a departmental office/staff room, the dept. has a well-furnished Air-Conditioned Language Lab where regular classes are taken. The Dept. organizes regular departmental seminars and talks for students to create scope for them to learn beyond syllabus.

Curricular Activities

• Seminar paper presentation on 4th Saturday of every month in Chemistry department
• Apart from regular classes, surprise examinations are periodically held
• Group discussions interactive sessions are organized

Achievements

• 12:1 student to faculty ratio for personal mentorship in UG courses per year
• Numerous students are service holders in Govt. of Odisha and Govt. of India. Moreover, students are also involved in Private sector, journalism, NGO, print media, politics, Naval sector and defense sector.
